A Spring Celebration of Hope and Togetherness
On a perfect spring day in April, our community gathered to celebrate Easter, embracing its universal themes of new life, hope, and renewal. The day began with a chocolate egg hunt, and it was a joy to see everyone—children and adults alike—scrambling with excitement to find the hidden treasures. The shared laughter set a beautiful tone for the rest of our celebration.
After the hunt, we moved into our community center for a potluck lunch that was a true feast of cultures. The table was laden with dishes from all over the world: fresh noodles, homemade focaccia, Korean mung bean jelly, salsa and chips, and so much more. Each dish was an offering, a story shared with our community family.
As we ate, our conversation turned to the meaning of Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We talked about new beginnings and the hope that comes with spring. It was a moment of genuine connection, reflecting on shared values that resonate across all our different backgrounds. This Easter gathering was more than just a party; it was a beautiful expression of our diverse, welcoming community, a place where everyone can feel at home, especially during the holidays.
